Here we are at the start of HRB's 30^th year. Studio 1 is nearly ready for use again and our 24 hour service is nearly ready to go. 2008 looks like its going to be a great year for HRB.

Studio 1

The upgraded to studio 1 are nearly complete, a few final tweaks and we should be ready to go. The plan is to keep the studio out of use for a while so that training can happen off air. Hopefully the training will take place last week of Jan, first week of Feb. Check your emails for news nearer the time.

24 Hour HRB

The 24 hour service is also almost ready. We need to check the levels of some of the tracks on the system, as now it is connected to the desk it needs less level than we expected. Once that is complete we should be good to go. Initially it will be a very basic music service, but once it is working and we become more experienced – and get more music loaded – the service will improve.

The 24 hour service will start before Studio 1 comes back into use. This will mean a change to the procedure for going on / off air. Watch your emails for more info, and look out for the notices in Studio 2.

Studio 2.

Studio 2 needs updating to bring it into line with Studio 1 – however there will be a gap of several weeks after Studio 1 comes back into service to ensure Studio 1 is working ok, and to give us a bit of a break, before we start on that.

Monitoring / Recording

As you should know, in the past we occasionally monitored the programmes on HRB. This has now changed, ALL programmes on HRB are now recorded. This means we can check that programmes conform the the stations remit, and in the event of any complaints we can check the logs and see what really happened.

It also means that we can extract the “good bits” from programmes for later use - repeating on the automation system, entries to the HBA awards, etc. If you think a part of your show is particularly good, an interview, a chat with a patient, anything, let me know and I will extract it from the logs. I will need to know the date and time (the time of the interview, not the time of the show) to within a few minutes.

Web Shop

Thanks to everyone who has used the shop, the amount we have earned is steadily creeping up, currently just over £13. Don't forget, when buying on line, go through http://buy.at/hrbarnet every time, and the station will receive a commission (check the A-Z list of retailers to see how much we get from each one).

Subscriptions
