We started the month early on the 2nd when we help the Friends of Barnet Hospital with their fete at Barnet Hospital, providing a PA system and running our tombola stall. The sun shone and the crowds flowed. A static display by the UK PT Cruiser Club helped attract the crowds.
Capital Gold's Dean Martin was there, helping out on the HRB stand, and he is pictured above presenting a gold disc to station manager Frank Heinley. This gold disc will be taking pride of place on the HRB studio wall.
On the 30th June we helped the North London Hospice on their sunflower appeal day by providing a PA system on an open top bus touring various local shopping areas. Another wet day and more drowned rats, but it was fun. Our final fete was on July 1st when we went to the Woodridge School fete. They sensibly decided to hold the event indoors, so we didn't get wet this time. Once again we ran our tombola stall and the PA system. So it was a busy few weeks for the HRB fundraising team, out and about raising awareness of the station and money as well. We are looking forward to next year, just hope its not quite so wet. |

June was a busy month for HRB as we attended a number of fetes around
the Barnet area. Fetes serve 2 purposes for HRB, they help raise
awareness of the station in the community, and they raise a small
amount of money to help keep the station running.
